I liked the place, quiet, very good location, nice people and very kind, comfortable bedroom, it was very clean also the toilet. Have a kitchen with everything you can need, very close to convenience store and metro station. Have elevator. They even also help us to find another room because we rented just for one night and next days was fully booked there. I recommend for real travellers not stupid tourist that complain about everything.

It is a big apartment with more rooms than the Nepalese family, who lives there, needs. So they turned 3 or 4 rooms into guest rooms. If you don't mind to share the bathroom with other guests and the family, then this is pretty good place to stay. You can keep your food (or drinks) in the fridge but the kitchen is small and not convenient to use. The family is very friendly and helpful. DND is located in around 15 minutes walking distance from downtown (Bairro Alto or Alfama) and the metro station is just in front of the house. On the street toward downtown you'll find a lot of local pastelerias and restaurants. Breakfast in the local pastelerias can cost around 3 to 4 € per person. In the center the same things (coffee, pastry, pasteis de nata and freshly pressed orange juice) cost 9 to 10€. And the local pastelerias are way better to my taste. Wifi is available there for free. A few things: Only 2 guest rooms are with window! In the other rooms you get the air from the corridor through the door which you better leave open for the night. It is not a problem, nobody will come to bother you but if you are not comfortable with this, then you need to ask for one of the rooms with windows. One room with window is on the front side of the building, toward Almirade Rei street. The 24h noise can be disturbing. I bought silicone ear plugs from a drug store and then it was not a problem to sleep with opened window.
